I’m working on a short film that involves a fight scene. One character is going to stab the other in the shoulder with a knife, and when he pulls out the knife, I want blood to shoot up. (Yes, that’s violent and exaggerated, but that’s what I’m going for.)
Anyway, what is the best way to shoot up fake blood? I’m thinking a tube in which I could fill with blood and us a bulb at the end to squeeze, or maybe even blow into one end of the tube instead.
I don’t have a large budget, but any suggestions?
Thanks,
Matt

You could probably get away with not doing any makeup or silicone prosthesis element, and just do a little blood squirting and shirt ripping. There are a few other stab effect tutorials out there. I think Film Riot did a good one a little while back. I’ll see if I can find it later.
