I’m just about to upgrade my camera setup, and I’ve been coming back to the same question: Would it be smarter to upgrade to a mid-range DSLR (such as a Canon 60D), or a prosumer camcorder (such as the Canon Vixia HF G10)?
I plan to shoot primarily in the context of short films and vlogs. I’m looking for a crisp, cinema quality and a good amount of manual control. Let me know your thoughts on this!
Thanks Brandon! I’ve been researching the HF G10 camcorder, and it really does offer a lot of manual controls, including apeture and shutter speed. It also has a great manual focus ring with a shallow-ish DOF, and great continuous autofocus. Just letting you know what the DSLR is up against
